Mancini Jeans started life in 2012, when co-founders Stephen Collins, Ryan Collins and Jan Dickinson saw a gap in the UK luxury menswear market and decided to sit down and create a Jean collection that had strong Italian influence but which were British at heart and suited the UK market. Five years later, the brand has gone from strength to strength. These three guys from ‘up north’ have not only delivered a collection of jeans, they have created a new and exciting British luxury brand with a growing loyal customer base and celebrities queuing up to endorse it. Talking about their journey, Stephen, who has 30 years’ experience in men’s retail said “The creation of Mancini was born partly out of frustration. So many of the big designers were squeezing independent retailers out of the market and the arrival of on-line shopping left them
struggling to compete on stock and price. We wanted to create a brand that would stand behind the British independents and work with them and this is exactly what we have done”.
Jan said: “One of the biggest problems when trying to find a good fitting pair of jeans in this country is that so many of the European designer brands are tailored to a smaller physique. We wanted to create a fit that would suit the British audience with all of the quality and detail you would expect from a designer label.
“Between us we have over 50 years’ experience, we know the market and what sells. But also, over the last five years we have listened carefully to feedback back from customers and our retailers alike and believe that we now have the best fitting jeans on the market”. The British design team have created the three perfect fits, super-slim, slim and regular straight leg. Fitting everyone from the athlete who may need more stretch in the thigh to those who just love their skinnies.
With artistic attention to detail – through contrasting trims and stitching – Mancini Jeans has an Italian design influence running through its veins but will always be British at heart. In addition to the main collection which are priced at £199, the team have also developed an exclusive limited-edition pair called The Spitfire Jean which, priced at £395, feature a genuine piece of metal from the original Spitfire plane SL633 with vibrant red stitching as a tribute to the fallen heroes of the war.
Whilst Mancini is first and foremost a jeans brand, they also offer bespoke tailoring, made-to-measure suits and polo shirts plus a stunning collection of shirts made from the most beautiful cloths sourced from and made in Italy, all exclusively sold at Scruples Menswear, Barrowford, Lancashire. Stephen added: “The reaction to the Jeans has been incredible and we are very excited for the future. I think once you try on a pair of Mancini Jeans you will appreciate two things, the style you would associate with Italian design and the quality and integrity of a British brand”.
To name but a few, Mancini Jeans can now be found in Accent Leeds, Jules B Kendal, Prey Four Harrogate, Michael Stuart Selby, Scruples Barrowford and on-line.
