AN EYE FOR QUALITY
beyond visits Lister Horsfall’s state-of-the-art Rolex Authorised Service Centre, designed exclusively for the care and maintenance of Rolex timepieces, and meets the specialist watchmakers dedicated to keeping every movement running to perfection.
It takes a certain kind of person and patience to be able to navigate your way around the wondrous workings of a Rolex watch.
But after over 120 years of selling and servicing the watches of their loyal customers, Lister Horsfall jewellers have always been the most trusted pair of hands in which to leave your timepiece.

And now following the refurbishment and development of their multi-million-pound showroom in Halifax,
Lister Horsfall are proud to unveil their Rolex Authorised Service Centre and the team who will be making the cogs turn for the next generation.
Watchmakers Luke Mills, 24 and Alistair Cochrane, 22 are the men who smoothly run the service centre, and who, despite their age, are already highly skilled in the complexities and components of any watch you care to give them.
Having both qualified as watchmakers after completing their 3000-hour studies at the British School of Watchmaking before going on to obtain their Rolex accreditation – which means they are officially authorised by Rolex to work on their timepieces and issue the Rolex international service warranty – your watch really will be in the safest hands.

Growing up, both Luke and Alistair shared a similar fascination for taking things apart and then putting them back together and coupled with their love for luxury watches, it meant a career in horology – the art of making clocks and watches – was always on the horizon.
Talking about his lifelong love of watches, Luke said: “From a young age I always had an interest in watches, particularly in disassembling and reassembling old movements but it wasn’t until the age of 18 when I received my first luxury watch from Lister Horsfall Jewellers that I realised just how much I wanted to work in that industry.”
It was during that visit, Luke was also introduced to Managing Director, Nick Horsfall who suggested it would be useful to get hands-on experience with the luxury timepieces and so as well as a new watch, Luke ended up walking out of Lister Horsfall that day with a new dream job on the shopfloor.
He added: “That job gave me invaluable experience and knowledge in luxury timepieces and the watch industry and with the help of Nick and the team at Lister Horsfall, I applied for a place at the British School Of Watchmaking where I studied for two years before qualifying as a qualified watchmaker.”
After graduating from the BSOW in 2022 Luke went on to obtain his Rolex accreditation – a badge of honour that is adhered to at all Rolex Service Centres worldwide.
As for Alistair, the realisation that he wanted to pursue a career in watchmaking came during the pandemic when he began watching videos online about watchmaking and repairing.
It fuelled his interest in all things watch-related and when the lockdowns were lifted, he set about getting experience at a small clock and watch shop in Manchester before successfully passing his BSOW last year.

2025 has already seen his journey take another big step when he joined Lister Horsfall as a Watchmaker, having earned his Rolex accreditation earlier in the year.
Alistair said: “It has been an incredible journey in just five years and securing a job at Lister Horsfall in their new state-of-the-art service centre is a dream come true.
“Getting to work every day with a brand as renowned and respected as Rolex – both within the industry and beyond – is something I’m really proud of.”
The pristine service centre, which has been designed exclusively for the care and maintenance of Rolex timepieces, combines advanced technology with the skilled craftsmanship of Luke and Alistair, and is as impressive as the rest of the beautiful new showroom which opened last year.
Talking about the services that Lister Horsfall provide, Alistair added: “From the moment you bring your Rolex to us, we ensure each step of the servicing process is handled with the utmost precision and care.
“It’s not just about maintaining your watch; it’s about giving you peace of mind, knowing it’s in the hands of experts who are as passionate about your timepiece as you are.”
“Having a Rolex Authorised Service Centre at Lister Horsfall means our clients enjoy the convenience of local service while maintaining the assurance of Rolex’s global standards. Your timepiece is expertly cared for right here in-house, yet it benefits from the same international warranty offered at Rolex Service Centres worldwide.
“It is this unique combination of accessibility and quality that ensures our clients always receive exceptional service with the confidence and prestige that only Rolex can provide.”
