For 57 years Sutcliffe Construction (one of Yorkshire’s leading privately-owned construction companies and steel frame fabricators) has been appointed as a trusted principal contractor on multi-million-pound projects for leading companies and organisations in the commercial, industrial, sports, retail and education sectors.

New build for a private client

Projects include The Hive at Stockeld Park, one of Europe’s largest indoor play centres, the iconic Ilkley Rugby Club and Weetons (formerly Crimple Hall) on Leeds Road in Pannal.

After being repeatedly approached by commercial clients requiring their expertise and delivery for residential projects, Directors James Sutcliffe and
Sam Allen decided to partner with residential building expert Harry Croft in 2018 to create the new division.

Seven years on, their residential portfolio spans from remodelling existing dwellings to new build bespoke ‘super homes’, including a 16,000 square foot home set over five levels featuring a 16-car subterranean garage, cinema room, leisure facilities and swimming pool.

Another notable project – a 7,000 square foot new build sited on a former tennis court received the New Design Award 2024 from Ilkley’s Civic Society.
