Expect a winter wonderland of food, drink and entertainment that will keep the party going right up to New Year’s Eve as Chow Down Winter Village returns for eight weeks of festive fun.
As the nights draw in, what better way to spend an evening than cosying up by a fire pit in a Christmas Tipi with a boozy hot chocolate in hand?
That and much more is what you can look forward to as Chow Down’s Winter Village returns for another festive feast of fun and games.
Following on from a successful launch last year, 2022 is set to be even bigger with a host of themed entertainment including special Drag Brunches, Bingo Lingo, comedy nights, Christmas Dog Social, a Chow Down Quizmas plus screenings of the upcoming World Cup matches.
The cosy Christmas Tipis in the Winter Gardens are back along with some new additions like the Hutte Bavarian Beer Hall where you’ll be able to catch all the England and Wales games while enjoying a great beer selection, street food, heaters, table service and pre-match anthems.
Over the eight weeks, Winter Village will welcome headline DJs Fat Tony, Norman Jay MBE, The Cuban Brothers and DJ Spoony while in the Food Village, guests will be spoilt for choice with resident chefs, rotating traders and open fire cooking.
Food lovers can look forward to culinary winter delights from Bastard Bistros and The Middle Feast with warming desserts from Savvy Baker in the resident kitchen while a sensational line-up of guest traders will be serving up delicious dishes throughout the season.
Included will be Bento Box, Heffe Mojo, Mans Market, Tikka Chance on Me, Little Red Food Cluck! Oi Dumplings, Sabroso Street, Meat Stack, Eat Like a Greek, Nikos Comfort Food, Korean Grub Club, Hoi Polloi Street Kitchen, Igloo Pizza and Luigi Street Food.

GRASSINGTON DICKENSIAN FESTIVAL
3rd & 10th December
Step back in time and experience the romance of Christmas past in the heart of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Transported to Victorian times, Grassington will become home to street traders, choirs and entertainment that will warm the heart and help you escape the commercialism of modern times.
HARROGATE CHRISTMAS MARKET
2nd – 11th December
Harrogate town centre will be hosting a new festive market featuring an eclectic mix of local traders and traditional European Christmas stalls. Complete with a festive road train to get about the town, there’ll be about 50 traders serving up mouth-watering treats for customers to sample and a wide range of unique gift ideas to pick up.
PIECE HALL WINTER MAKERS MARKET
11th – 20th November
The Piece Hall Winter Makers Market returns this November, showcasing some of the region’s favourite independent craft stalls, artisan makers and pop-up food and drink traders for two festive shopping weekends. The market is the perfect opportunity to find a special gift, enjoy a bite to eat or a warming tipple, and there will be a carousel for the little ones to enjoy, as well as live entertainment from local musicians.
MALTON CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL FOOD AND GIFT MARKET
3rd & 4th December
Famed for its ever-popular monthly food markets, this hot-bed of culinary delights will be serving up a festive treat at the start of December where you can expect fab treats, gorgeous gift stalls, street food, live chef demos and music, all set in Malton’s central market place. And while you’re there, don’t forget a trip to Talbot Yard where you’ll find stocking fillers galore.
ST NICHOLAS FAIR, YORK
17th November – 23rd December 2022
There’s nowhere quite like the magical streets of York to get you in the festive mood and this year will see the welcome return of the city’s Christmas Market where a host of local traders will once again be selling unique gifts and serving up delicious festive food and tipples from their enchanting alpine chalets.
SKIPTON CHRISTMAS MARKET
5th & 12th December
If you’re heading up the Dales on the 5th or 12th December, make sure you stop off in Skipton to enjoy their traditional Christmas markets that will be bursting with over 150 fabulous festive stalls. Featuring some of the region’s favourite artisan makers, producers and crafters you’ll be spoilt for choice as you stock up on goodies while enjoying live entertainment from brass, swing and pipe bands before carols in the Holy Trinity church yard from 4pm.
THE GREAT YORKSHIRE CHRISTMAS FAIR
1st – 4th December
The Great Yorkshire Christmas Fair returns to the Great Yorkshire Showground this year and will once again be home to a wealth of restaurants, bars and endless stalls all housed in Hall 1. Feast your eyes on gorgeous gifts supplied by exclusive boutique companies who will tempt you with hundreds of products you won’t find on the high street.
