Wavy hair was a standout beauty trend at the A/W16 shows and, when executed correctly, is one of my all-time favourite styles. Giambatista Valli’s mermaid waves were my absolute favourite; they were so feminine and magical, but the loose waves at Balmain were just as gorgeous. Retro waves dominated the catwalk at Marni and Marc Jacobs; Forties wartime waves were revived at Marni, while at Marc Jacobs, Twenties’ style finger waves were worn set and sculptured. This look isn’t restricted to the lengths of the hair – at Stella McCartney models sported wavy side fringes. This is such an easy look to recreate, both in salon and at home. Make sure you use a styling tool designed to create waves, rather than curls, such as the BaByliss PRO Deep Waver.
