Beyond reports on how Another Place, The Lake will be transformed into a magical Christmas escape over the coming months with the return of their ice rink and so much more.

Following the sell-out success of its first-ever ice rink on the shores of Ullswater last winter, Another Place, The Lake is inviting visitors and locals back for an extended skating season over the festive period.

And if you’re looking to get away from the hustle and bustle then this magical winter wonderland will be yours to enjoy over the coming months.

From 20th November 2025 until 10th January 2026 guests will be able to get their skates on and immerse themselves in the perfect escape and enjoy winter warmers, delicious festive food and the ultimate stay in one of the Lakes’s most picturesque settings.

But the highlight of Another Place’s festive celebrations, will undoubtedly be the 200-square-metre ice rink – which first launched last December and saw over 8,500 people take to the ice, set against the backdrop of Ullswater and the snow-capped fells beyond.

And this year promises to be bigger and better as the hotel hosts another season of elemental festive celebrations, in partnership with Land Rover Discovery.

After working up an appetite, skaters can deboot and wander through the grounds to the hotel’s Living Space to sample the ‘Twelve Drinks of Christmas’, head to The Glasshouse for authentic woodfired pizzas or cosy up by the fire-pits with spice-infused mulled wine and cider or indulgent hot chocolate and mince pies.

Beyond the rink, a 16ft Nordmann Christmas tree, lights and decorations and a delicious festive menu await guests while the outdoor Fellside Sauna will provide the perfect sanctuary to relax and unwind.
