We report on the emergence of an exciting new interior design company, Dean Heim & Co. who are putting their art and soul into helping transform the homes of clients across Yorkshire.

With a lifelong passion for all things art, a love for interior design and a keen eye for architecture, Ben Holland, business partner Ben Winterburn and Sophie Cherrington are helping to transform the homes of their clients with dramatic effect.

And stepping into one of their latest completed projects that they have lovingly restored, designed and decorated, their impeccable taste and creativity is clear to see.

As you wander through the beautifully designed rooms that are adorned with stunning original artworks and incredible sculptures, you can’t fail to be impressed by their attention to detail at every turn.

Following the launch of their own new exciting interior design company, Dean Heim & Co. last year, the team has already overseen the development of numerous projects with their fresh approach and artistic vision.

Based in Ilkley, their goal is to create high quality interiors that are heavily influenced by original curated art which can elevate an ordinary home into something spectacular.

Having teamed up with fellow Yorkshireman Ben Winterburn last year, Holland realised that their shared passion for art and interior design could provide a bespoke service that would go above and beyond what many other interior designers could offer.

Winterburn who grew up in a family of artists, and whose father is the world-renowned sculptor Steve Winterburn, has worked amongst art and artists all his life and has seen first-hand how artwork can transform and command a space, while Holland’s background in property development and interior design made them the perfect match to bring their vision to life.

Having previously worked as a site manager for a luxury property developer in Harrogate where he also helped on the interior design of high-end homes, Holland left the role to set up his own property development business in Ilkley where he worked alongside other local developers to create design-led and meticulously finished spaces before setting up Dean Heim in 2024.

Talking about the business, Holland said: “My passion has always come from art and interior design and so being able to combine these two elements and bring them to a client is very exciting.

“Working with Ben, whose knowledge of the art world is phenomenal, has been invaluable and our shared belief of how art can enhance a home has allowed us to really showcase what we can bring to our clients.”

Working closely with private property developers to deliver bespoke interior solutions whilst also helping other interior designers and private clients achieve their aspirations, the team has a wealth of experience in turning the ordinary into the extraordinary.

Winterburn, who heads the art curation and operations side of Dean Heim, is no stranger to the business world having taken over the running of his family’s casting foundry in East Yorkshire and he believes their combined vision, eye for detail and shared interests will prove hugely popular to clients looking to turn their art-stopping interior dreams into a reality.

He said: “Working amongst art and artists for over a decade, I have come to understand how artwork can transform and command a space and so working on the creation of aesthetically pleasing interior spaces is something that has always appealed to me.

“Upon meeting Ben it was clear that our shared passion of art and interior design could bring something special to the industry and the creation of Dean Heim allows us to do just that.

The arrival of Sophie this year as senior interior designer completed the team.

Having previously worked for Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, and as a Sales Executive for luxury marble, stone and tile specialist Lapicida,  Sophie has further refined her expertise through residential interior design studies at the prestigious KLC School of Design.
