Located on the outskirts of Otley, Pool Bank Vintage Interiors is a fascinating and seductive 9000 sq ft showroom that is brimming with a curated collection of design classics, Danish furniture, industrial décor, antiques, vintage finds, lighting and contemporary art.

In the space of just eight years, owner Ian Appleyard has turned this derelict old mill space into a vibrant place to shop and it is his eye for detail and love for furniture that makes every visit as exciting as the last.

Bringing people together who are passionate about vintage furniture was the reason he ditched a lifetime working in hospitality to pursue a career sourcing and selling his favourite pieces and such is his reputation in the industry he now has a global audience with his stock regularly shipped around the world.

And as his reputation within the industry grew so too did his stock and a visit to the mill which is bursting with beautiful furniture and artefacts from yesteryear, is a must for interior design fanatics.

But it is not just locals who are flocking to the magical world of Pool Bank Interiors and after several TV appearances on antique and salvage shows, Ian says he is now attracting the interest of a national and international audience.

It is a trend that has enjoyed a huge resurgence in recent years and one that has become as popular with contemporary fans as it has with retro lovers.

Talking about the business and the demand for his stock, Ian said: “My passion has always been for mid-century furniture and bringing the most beautiful minimalist, versatile and long-lasting pieces to the market and I am lucky to have built up a loyal customer base across not just Yorkshire but across the world.”
