That is the ethos of Love Brownies, which began life on a kitchen table in Ilkley 12 years ago and hasn’t stopped growing since.
It was 2009 when Chantal Teal’s love of baking prompted her to start making brownies in her kitchen and selling them online as beautiful gifts to be distributed across the country. As the brownies grew in popularity so too did the business and the following year, Love Brownies opened their first kitchen and café in the heart of Ilkley.
Winning a raft of awards propelled the growth of the business almost overnight and production was soon moved to a larger bakery in Barden near Bolton Abbey to meet demand while the Ilkley café tripled in size and added a full breakfast and lunch menu to its offering.
Talking about their success, Chantal, who is a chef by trade, said: “We know that our brownies are the best in the business, and we have a string of accolades to back up what our customers tell us.
“Not only do we have brownies and treats that we’re extremely proud of, but we work hard to ensure that the customers’ experience is the best on the high street.”
As well as the tempting range of brownies, vegan brownies, brownie milkshakes, luxurious hot chocolate and freshly roasted coffee, the 16 cafés, covering the whole country, serve up delicious granola with fresh fruit, pastries, loaded sourdough toasts and jam-packed sandwiches.
Running both an online gifting site and an expanding network of shops and cafes, including the Brownie Barn in Barden and their new flagship café in Victoria Gate, Leeds, the award-winning chocolate brownie business is a truly amazing success story that just keeps on growing.
