Reading
We love the 90s here at beyond and so when we heard supermodel and global fashion icon, Claudia Schiffer wanted to take us on a personal photographic journey through fashion’s most illustrious decade, we jumped at the chance of receiving her shiny new book.
Captivate! is a richly illustrated bible of beauty with over 150 images, including unseen material from Schiffer’s own archives and brings together for the first-time legendary fashion photographs of supermodels including Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Kate Moss and Schiffer herself.
For those who can’t get enough of that defining decade, this stunning book is a reminder of the amazing characters and places which made it such a memorable one for fashion, music and supermodels.
Capitavate! is published by Prestel and is available for £49.99.

showboating
We might be a little biased here at beyond and certainly like to write more than fight, but one local boxer very much on our radar is Ilkley lad Jake Bowness. Now fighting out of the prestigious Islington Boxing Club in north London, 22-year-old Jake has already fought for a select GB team and remains unbeaten after four fights. Next up is a showcase event in May against Merseyside Select. Watch this space.

self-charging
We’ve spent the past few months with the world’s first self-charging solar-powered, wireless active noise-cancelling headphones wrapped firmly round our heads. Launched by Urbanista, the Swedish lifestyle audio brand, their stylish Los Angeles model has been designed to revolutionise your listening experience by providing unlimited playtime with solar charging when exposed to light, both outdoors and indoors.

playing
Having just released his fourth solo album after a series of teaser Eps, one of our most-played records of the month is Jonny Marr’s Fever Dreams Pts 1 -4. It’s another success for the former Smiths guitarist.
Crimple
Since opening late last year, Crimple, on the outskirts of Harrogate has become a mecca for food lovers, shoppers and gardeners who have been flocking to its 20,000 sq ft food hall and 160 seater contemporary restaurant. Packed with over 50 specialist food producers, and a well-stocked garden centre, it’s a place well worth heading to.
