on our radar
This month at beyond we have been mainly…..
We love the 90s here at beyond and so when we heard supermodel and global fashion icon, Claudia Schiffer wanted to take us on a personal photographic journey through fashion’s most illustrious decade, we jumped at the chance of receiving her shiny new book.
Captivate! is a richly illustrated bible of beauty with over 150 images, including unseen material from Schiffer’s own archives and brings together for the first-time legendary fashion photographs of supermodels including Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Kate Moss and Schiffer herself.
For those who can’t get enough of that defining decade, this stunning book is a reminder of the amazing characters and places which made it such a memorable one for fashion, music and supermodels.
Capitavate! is published by Prestel and is available for £49.99.
When it comes to booking a getaway, we all love that feeling of exclusivity and one company has created just that with its unique curation of the very best boutique rentals in the UK for two-six people. Offering gorgeous and affordable properties across the UK, Kip Hideaways specialise in small places with big souls that are just waiting to be discovered. Access to unlocking these hidden gems is by membership only but at just £17 a year, they do all the hard work having already located the best-looking boutique properties for you to enjoy.
Check out their site kiphideaways.com and discover an exclusive hideaway you’ll love.
We might be a little biased here at beyond and certainly like to write more than fight, but one local boxer very much on our radar is Ilkley lad Jake Bowness. Now fighting out of the prestigious Islington Boxing Club in north London, 22-year-old Jake has already fought for a select GB team and remains unbeaten after four fights. Next up is a showcase event in May against Merseyside Select. Watch this space.

If you’re on the hunt for the best home-made sausage rolls and the most delicious bakes and cakes, then may we suggest you check out Ilkley Kitchen. Owner Marcella Mullan creates irresistible food which has built up quite a reputation since she launched the business in 2016. You can find her indulgent home-made treats – including her award-winning orange and almond cake- at numerous cafes around town or get yourself to The Grove market on the first Sunday of every month to stock up on her seasonal tarts, pastries and cakes.
We’ve spent the past few months with the world’s first self-charging solar-powered, wireless active noise-cancelling headphones wrapped firmly round our heads. Launched by Urbanista, the Swedish lifestyle audio brand, their stylish Los Angeles model has been designed to revolutionise your listening experience by providing unlimited playtime with solar charging when exposed to light, both outdoors and indoors.
Having just released his fourth solo album after a series of teaser Eps, one of our most-played records of the month is Jonny Marr’s Fever Dreams Pts 1 -4. It’s another success for the former Smiths guitarist.
Since opening late last year, Crimple, on the outskirts of Harrogate has become a mecca for food lovers, shoppers and gardeners who have been flocking to its 20,000 sq ft food hall and 160 seater contemporary restaurant. Packed with over 50 specialist food producers, and a well-stocked garden centre, it’s a place well worth heading to.
