A WELCOME RETURN
It’s been a long time coming but the doors of one of Wharfedale’s most popular gastropubs, The Fleece in Addingham have finally been flung open again as it embarks on an exciting new chapter.
We’ve all been yearning for the chance to sit, chat, snack, drink and dine in a warm and comfortable pub again and for one popular Wharfedale establishment, the wait is finally over as they embark on an exciting new relaunch.
The Fleece in Addingham is back and judging by the initial reaction from locals and visitors alike, it’s already proving a resounding success.
Now operating under the nationwide Oakman Group, The Fleece has always been synonymous with fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere and the iconic venue and its new team have been working hard to cement its reputation as one of Yorkshire’s favourite gastropubs.
New manager Hywel Morris, formerly of The Fox in Menston, has gathered a talented team of 30 staff who have helped create a brilliant atmosphere for diners and drinkers to once again enjoy in the tap room, cosy restaurant, spacious function room or on the sun-kissed outdoor terrace.
Hywel said: “I’ve always dreamt of managing The Fleece. It’s in an historic village and having lived locally since I was 11, it’s always been one of my favourite haunts.
“The Fleece has always had a great reputation for serving great food and being attentive to guests’ needs and it is that reputation which has enabled us to attract some great people to join our team, including my deputy Andrew Pye and our new Head Chef Will Bonfield.
“Will has worked for some of the top Michelin starred restaurants in the UK and overseas and I know he can’t wait to bring his exciting new menu to the table.”
The all-day menu will offer a choice of freshly prepared British classics, daily seafood specials and Sunday roasts while in the traditional well-stocked tap room, you’ll find a selection of local ales including Timothy Taylor, Ilkley Brewery and Black Sheep.
