Beyond reports on how Yorkshire jewellers Lister Horsfall continue to grow their reputation with the opening of a beautifully updated Ilkley showroom and the soon-to-launch addition of vaulted safety deposit boxes for clients.
It’s hard to picture the small and cramped original jewellery shop that has occupied the corner of The Grove in Ilkley since 1974.
It was the location where renowned jewellers Lister Horsfall set up their second outlet over 50 years ago and which helped cement their reputation as one of Yorkshire’s most trusted and established family businesses.
But having expanded the premises significantly over the past 20 years and following a stylish new refit last year, it is now unrecognisable from the one they first opened all those years ago.
The new Ilkley showroom
It is the latest chapter in the Lister Horsfall story and one that brings the Ilkley showroom into line with the look and feel of their flagship store in Halifax which underwent a multi-million pound makeover two years ago.
Both showrooms are testament to the hard work and dedication of Group Managing Director, Nick Horsfall, who took over the business from his father in 2006.
It is undoubtedly his vision, and the team he has built around him, that has taken Lister Horsfall to new heights, creating an unrivalled shopping experience for everyone who visits their showrooms.
Beyond the retail experience, the business also offers a full range of watch and jewellery services, from expert repairs and restorations to the creation of bespoke jewellery pieces and thoughtful redesigns.
These personalised services allow clients to add a truly individual touch to their jewellery, often transforming much-loved pieces into something new while preserving their original meaning.
Nick, who is the fourth generation of the family dynasty, said: “For over 50 years, Lister Horsfall has been dedicated to delivering exceptional quality service to our loyal clients in Ilkley and so following the expansion and refurbishment of the showroom in Halifax last year we wanted to bring that same unparalleled shopping experience and range of services to our customers in Ilkley and beyond.”

The Ilkley showroom, which has more than quadrupled in size since it first opened its doors, now features an abundance of space, stylish design, a relaxing and sumptuous lounge, private meeting areas, its very own hospitality bar and event space plus the imminent arrival of their own vaulted safety deposit boxes to provide even great security for their customers.
Speaking about the refit, Ilkley store manager George Nolan said: “It’s a really exciting time for Lister Horsfall in Ilkley and we now have the space to provide an enhanced customer experience in a stylish setting and ensure we continue raising the bar when it comes to unique personal service to our many loyal customers and the new ones we look forward to meeting.
Safety deposit boxes
“This year will also see the arrival of safety deposit boxes in Ilkley which will allow customers to securely keep their valuable watches and jewellery in our vault, giving them the peace of mind that always comes with Lister Horsfall.
“It is just another addition to the whole experience we provide and alongside our exemplary after-care service both here and in our Rolex authorised service centre in Halifax, we take great pride in not just establishing a customer relationship but a true friendship and the reassurance we are always here for you.”
