Timble Inn
When it comes to escaping to a hidden gem in the back of beyond, there is nowhere quite like The Timble Inn. We checked in to the romantic 18th century coaching inn and weren’t disappointed.
H
idden away in the quiet, beautiful village of Timble in the stunning Washburn Valley, The Timble Inn has a rich history dating back to 1200 AD.
But despite its age, this is a hotel and restaurant that is certainly not living in the past having been awarded a 5 star Gold Award rating and 2 culinary Rosettes by the AA.
Having reopened in 2010 after five years of extensive renovations, this humble little inn with a big heart has gone from strength to strength.
Family owned for the past three years it is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life and with a mouth-watering menu carefully crafted by the classically trained chef, it is little wonder it is winning awards left, right and centre.
The nine bedrooms are equally impressive and no expense has been spared in creating a casually elegant atmosphere where luxury abounds.
Sumptuous natural feather pillows and luxurious white crisp linen alongside high-quality furnishings will guarantee a good night’s sleep while the extensive hospitality tray will allow you to unwind in style.
And at a time when jumping on a plane for a weekend escape is more hassle than it’s worth, you’d be hard pressed to find a more romantic retreat than this little gem in the heart of the dales.
