As more people look to slow down, reconnect with nature and make the most of what Yorkshire has to offer, Denton Reserve is becoming one of the region’s most unique countryside staycation escapes.

Set within the beautiful landscape just outside Ilkley, Denton Reserve’s recently opened Coach House Lodges and brand-new Woodland Cabins offer something far beyond a place to stay — creating immersive experiences centred around nature, food and meaningful time away.

Perfect for wellness stays, countryside escapes, girls’ nights in, romantic weekends, digital detoxes and outdoor adventures, the stays are designed for guests wanting to properly switch off and decompress.

And with Yorkshire’s appetite for nature-led luxury and slower countryside escapes continuing to grow, Denton Reserve is encouraging local and regional guests to rediscover the beauty of slowing down closer to home.

The Coach House Lodges

Part of a collection of distinctive spaces set within the historic Coach House, these individually designed and beautifully reimagined one and two-bedroom lodges combine heritage character with calm contemporary interiors.

Designed for couples, families and solo stays, guests can begin the day with a lakeside sauna and cold-water swim, walk through the reserve to The Penny Bun for lunch or dinner,
spend evenings around the firepit or cook outdoors beneath Yorkshire skies.

Antique market finds sit alongside contemporary styling, creating a relaxed blend of heritage and modern comfort.

Each of the six lodges includes superking beds and luxury ensuites; freestanding baths and rain showers; kitchenettes for simple suppers and slow mornings; local makers and sustainable design touches and stunning views across the lake and deer park.

The Woodland Cabins

For those wanting a deeper escape into nature, Denton Reserve’s three off-grid cabins offer complete immersion in the landscape.

Nestled amongst woodland, open fields and valley views, the cabins are intentionally simple, peaceful and restorative — designed for guests wishing to truly step away from modern distractions.

Once guests park their car, the experience begins with a scenic 30-minute walk through woodland paths, open countryside and panoramic views across the valley.

Everything within the cabins runs from stored energy and delivered water, encouraging a slower and more mindful way of living during your stay.

The cabins have quickly become popular for romantic escapes; solo retreats; wellness weekends; walking stays; digital detox breaks and outdoor-focused experiences

Guests spend their days wild swimming, exploring local walks, reading beside the fire, cooking outdoors and embracing a quieter pace of life.

The Next Chapter

The Coach House Lodges and Woodland Cabins are just the latest chapter in Denton Reserve’s growing collection of accommodation experiences.

As well as the reimagined Grade I listed Hall, available to hire for private stays and celebrations, corporate retreats, and as a location house and The Penny Bun, Denton Reserve will also introduce the Dunkirk Farmhouse and Barn in July – larger spaces designed for group stays, multi-generational family escapes, celebrations and longer countryside gatherings.

Together, the growing collection reflects a wider shift towards experience-led hospitality, where guests are looking for more meaningful ways to spend time together in nature.

“People are increasingly looking for places that help them totally unwind,” says the Denton Reserve team. “Whether it’s a morning sauna and swim, a walk to The Penny Bun, a girls’ night away, cooking outdoors with friends or simply switching off for a few days, guests want experiences that feel memorable, grounding and restorative.”

Accommodation is available to book directly via dentonreserve.co.uk, with enquiries currently being taken via hello@dentonreserve.co.uk for the Barn and Farmhouse.
