Chow baby

After enjoying huge success last year, Chow Down, Leeds’ premier outdoor drinking, dining and entertainment experience is back with a bang for 2022.

Back at Temple Arches for another season of the best street food, cocktails, craft beer and live entertainment, the UK’s biggest outdoor dining venue, Chow Down will be serving up pure sunshine every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday until September.

As one of our favourite haunts of last year, Chow Down proved a big hit with revellers who packed out their scorching summer takeovers and the fabulously festive Winter Village in December.

Expect a reimagined space complete with a mini golf course and a three-tier sun terrace, as well as new Drag Brunch performances, DJs, live bands and family days.

Music and entertainment will come from acts including Greg Wilson, The Cuban Brothers, DJ Paulette, Norman Jay, Shades Collective and Mr Wilsons Second Liners with Thursday nights for live bands, Fridays for named DJs, Saturdays for local music talent and Sundays for brass bands.

Food fans will have lots to drool over as Residents Kitchens are back after a successful launch at last year’s Winter Village. The downtown food village will feature two resident kitchens and three weekly rotating kitchens.

For the first seven weeks, MorMor (Middle Eastern, North African & Mediterranean Street Food) and Sarto (pasta, sharing boards and more) will launch special menus, while joining the resident kitchen further down the line will be Boro Slice, Parmo’s, Holy Mountain and his incredible BBQ and the brand new steak restaurant from Asada Kitchen.

Founder Matt Long, said: “Chow Down is back and we couldn’t be any more excited for the summer! With our brand new Art Deco concept we have a host of new additions which along with some killer entertainment and the best street food and drinks, guarantees it’s going to be another great summer down Temple Arches.”
